I calibrate the rooms, and I mix the films that play in them.

Most calibrators come from systems integration or acoustics. I come from the other side.

I edit and mix feature films. I have spent years defending scenes in mixing stages — before tuning the rooms where they would be seen.

Both crafts in parallel since 2017, including eight years as a consultant for Dolby Laboratories. The combination is rare.

What it changes comes down to one word: transposition.

A mix is decided in a mixing stage. It is experienced in a cinema. My whole job lives in that crossing — the same sound, from the studio to the theatre.

Full alignment of an immersive or multichannel installation. Speaker aiming and placement, levels, headroom, playback control. Commercial cinemas, but also home cinemas and home studios.

Studio & mixing-stage calibrationPost-production, music studios

Tuning a mixing stage so that what is decided there translates identically to the cinema. Then staying: equipment choices and upkeep with your technical directors, settings refined as mixers come and go.

Audit & designBefore construction, renovation or creation

Acoustic and electroacoustic survey, recommendations on treatment and speaker choices. I also draw room and studio layouts, from 5.1 to Dolby Atmos, following CST recommendations and Dolby specifications.

Event calibration & follow-upFestivals, premieres

Commissioning installations built for the occasion. Then staying on call for the whole event — ready to adjust for each film crew.

On-site diagnosticsAlongside an intervention

While I am on site, I test speakers and amplifiers and measure impedance. Enough to locate a fault and point your integrator in the right direction, without taking the room apart.
